  • Expand musical knowledge and abilities, create and explore through art and science, develop fine and gross motor skills, and build confidence through performing arts.

Kindergarten prep EXTENTION PROGRAM

  • This class is an excellent supplement to our regular 4 Year-old Program. It provides extension learning in a smaller structured class setting.

  • Build confidence, along with enhancing social, language and conversation skills as we follow directions, role-play, learn manners, take turns, discuss feelings, listen to each other, and work together, while also building a variety of academic knowledge. Opportunities for students to lead, share ideas, and problem solve will be regular occurrences.

  • Improve handwriting skills with both letters and numbers. Basic pre-k math concepts will include counting skills, number recognition, simple geometry and spatial reasoning, sorting and patterns, early introduction to adding and subtracting, and introduction to math language. Read aloud books, letter recognition instruction and activities, and beginning spelling and word recognition will help improve students’ literacy skills.

  • Continued developmental growth will be encouraged through activities that focus on fine and gross motor skills. We will improve skills of using scissors and pencils correctly, copying and tracing, catching a ball, skipping, threading and lacing, peeling and placing stickers, and many more that provide an array of opportunities for practice and growth.

This class follows the science of reading and preparing students to read! Though hands-on activities, movement, games, small group instruction, picture books and more, we will work on:

  • Visual and auditory discrimination of letters – using both uppercase and lowercase

  • Comprehension

  • Author Studies
